This virus, that has killed millions, now takes one more life amongst them, but this time, it not only touches a family, but a whole country. Captain Sir Tom Moore has died today, and with his passing we are all touched in one way or another. He was an inspiration to a whole country, his selfless words will reverberate around us all for year to come. By his actions, we have seen the very best of Human nature. A total amount of £33 million was raised by this extraordinary individual, and his legacy will help millions of people in one way or another.
Will we ever see the likes of people like this again, those for whom service means service through to the end. The generations of the two world wars were without doubt a tougher , more inspiring, harder working generation than those that followed, if only we could learn important lessons from them. We need to look after those who truly need our help, whether financial or whatever. We have become a world of too much, too little, not enough, when will we learn to look after others, give more than we take to those who need it more.
As the flame of Sir Captain Tom goes out, we should learn lessons from his ways. We are living through some dreadful times, I only wish that we would learn from the mistakes we have made, learn to love our fellow man, move into the future with a new way of loving and giving.
I'm just sayin'.
